Don't Worry... It's Going to be a Great Year!

Second Grade Worry Stone Activity

On the first day of school, second graders read Alma and the Worry Stone. Then, they used clay to create their own worry stones! Now, the worry stones can be used when students feel worried or nervous and need tangible help melting their fears away. It was a great way to see old friends and meet new friends on the first day of school!

Preschool Fun

Students in Ms. French's preschool class are off to a great start! The kids are having a blast exploring different materials and toys in the classroom. They are enjoying discovering all the centers.

Camfel Productions

Thursday was an exciting day at South Elementary! We welcomed Camfel Productions and their ‘Keep Rollin’’ assembly, which captured students’ attention with giant movie screens and music while delivering the important message that we can always try our best, even when things feel difficult.

Students learned about the value of perseverance and commitment, and the highlight of the day was seeing some of their favorite teachers take on the Oreo challenge to show that with determination, we can overcome obstacles! To add to the excitement, some of our 4th grade friends joined Mrs. Cortina and Mr. Nocella on a special walk to the elementary school on location. Together, they helped escort our pre-K students so they could enjoy the assembly as well. It was wonderful to see our youngest learners included in the fun and learning!
